Suitable Internet Bundles For Your Android Phones in Nigeria

It is well known among android phone users that the android operating system consumes a lot of data. Use of wifi would have been a suitable means of accessing the internet if only wifi hotspots were common in many places within the country. As a result of this, we are left to rely on our mobile telecommunication service providers for internet access.
It has been noticed that blackberry phone users enjoy the cheapest internet service in the country, with the blackberry plans providing more data for lesser costs when compared with smartphone internet plans. Some individuals have been complaining about this fact; why should such plans be available to blackberry phone users while other smartphone users pay more for less? It is known as a fact that blackberry phones offer data compression, thus consuming less data when compared to other phones.
It has however been discovered that the blackberry plans offered by some of the telecom companies in Nigeria, Airtel and MTN in particular, can be utilized on android phones as well. So how do we go about it?

For Airtel
Airtel offers blackberry users 1GB of data at N1200 for the social month plan, and 1GB data at N1400 for the complete month plan. There is however no difference between these plans when being utilized on an android phone.
Therefore it is more economical to subscribe for the social month plan. To activate this plan, recharge your line with N1200 worth of airtime. Then send a text message containing "BSM" without the quotes to 440. You should receive a message that the plan has been activated. Upon activation of the plan, you should have internet access on your phone. If you don't, you can navigate to "mobile network settings" on your phone and look for "access point names". The way they are displayed varies from phone to phone. Under the airtel settings, you should have "internet.ng.airtel.com" as the access point name. If you have anything other than this there, you should change it.

The next blog post will discuss how to achieve the same thing using MTN. So stay with us.
Any questions or difficulties encountered while trying to achieve this should be posted in the comments section below and they will be answered or attended to as soon as possible.
