How to Root Tecno Phantom A1 (or F7)

Tecno recently released a new phone which is the phantom A1 or F7 as some people call it which is an android phone running on Jellybean. Most android phone users prefer to have root access to their phones to be able to "play" with their phones. This post will discuss the process required to root the phone.


To root your Tecno A1 or F7, here are the steps:

  1. Download pda.net from here
  2. Download ERoot from here
  3. Install the pda.net.It will prompt for device type. Select other. It will prompt you to connect your phone to your computer with USB debugging enabled on your phone. Do so.
  4. Extract and run the ERoot downloaded. It displays in chinese. Just ignore it. Wait a while. A root button should appear. If it doesn't, close the pda.net running from your system tray.
  5. Click on the root button. Your phone should be rooted in about 10 seconds. After that, you should have superuser installed on your phone.
  6. You can reboot your device and enjoy root access.

      Download root checker from playstore and then use it to check root status.

    ok, thou i later got an alert from AVG telling me that the phone is rooted but the firmware is not geniune.What of superuser?,need to be downloaded from playstore also?

      Yes. You can download superuser from playstore.

    Pls I just used this method. I have d superuser app in my appdrawer yet I can't install root apps. Root checker told me I dnt hav root access.. Wht shd I do pls?
