How to Root Tecno N3 Android Phone

Tecno, a chinese phone manufacturing company, wowed the Nigerian market when they went into android phone development. They started with T1 and moved on to produce T3, N3, D3 and their latest phone, N7. In order to fully enjoy the functionality of android phones, they have to be rooted. Rooting is simply the process of gaining complete control of your phones by removing the security imposed by Google on the android operating system. This blog post will discuss the steps required to be followed in order to successfully root your Tecno N3 android phone.

WARNING!!! Rooting your phone invalidates its warranty. Also, problems may arise during the rooting process though i haven't encountered one before. I  SHALL NOT be responsible if you brick your phone in the process. Proceed if you accept the warning above.
1) Enable usb debugging from settings>applications>development.
2) Set the preferred install location of applications as "internal device storage".
3) Go to play store and then search and download "Poot" from there.
4) When you launch poot, it will require you to download and install "ministro". Do so.
5) When the ministro completes download and installation, it will also connect to the internet to download some required qt libraries. Allow it to do so. It may take a while to complete the download. Note that if the download is interrupted and you open poot again, it will give you an error which i can't remember at the moment. You will need to restart the phone before the poot will work again.
4) When the download is complete, open poot. At this point, you will see two options, "click here to poot" and "built-in root checker". Click on "click here to poot". Your phone should vibrate and then go off. At this point, the power button won't work. You will have to remove your battery and re-insert it before the power button will respond.
5) When the phone must have come on, open poot once more and click "Click here to poot" once again. After a few milliseconds, three options should appear. Once this happens, your phone has been rooted.
6) Proceed to download superuser.
If you get to this point, then congratulations!!! You now have complete control of your phone's software.
Kudos to Brainrex for the information.

  4. Rooting a phone gives you more authority over the phone. So if you know what you are doing, you can improve the phone's performance after rooting.

    1. Switch off the phone and try it again. Sometimes the procedure has to be repeated a couple of times before rooting is successful.

    2. If you keep getting the same message over and over again, uninstall and reinstall the poot again. I kept getting the same message repeatedly recently while trying to root someone's phone. Uninstallation and reinstallation of the poot did the trick.

    1. After the phone goes off and you remove and replace the battery, you should open poot again and click on "press here to poot". At this point, the three options should appear. If it doesn't you should repeat the process again. Sometimes rooting the phone requires more than one or two attempts. If it still proves difficult, try removing the memory card of the phone and try it. Some people say this facilitates the rooting process.

    1. Only reason I'm posting this here is because I was told it would work with my phone's current SW.
